Artist’s Statement

I am a Tokyo based Japanese Designer/Artist Tomomi Koseki. I am passionate about design and art, making concept and developing ideas service, installation, and research, which is often concerned with humanity, and focus on things we normally in daily life to provide different points of view.

I also studied Performing Arts and Fashion which are both vital for my design background. I acquired the ability to observe. Fashion I leaned a deeper understanding of the difference between images and perception, materials and visual and tactile effects. Those experiences built up my way of approach, which is multi-directional insight and analysis, backed up by experiment. It is primarily a physical approach based on sensibility.

I believe when we feel "something invisible and interesting" physically, the status quo changes a little. Therefore, I always seek "something interesting" which can easily slip off in everyday life, and face the unconscious territory to share that story and voice with people through my design/ art work.
